Picture this. You wake up on a Saturday in July, sunlight already warming your apartment, and before you've even finished your first cup of coffee, you can hear a live band warming up a few blocks over on Clark Street. Your phone buzzes with a text from a friend: "Vintage market today?" You throw on your gym shoes, grab your tote bag, and you're out the door in ten minutes.

That's July when you rent apartments on the North Side of Chicago. Not hypothetical. Not aspirational. Just a regular weekend.

The Far North Side sits at the center of some of the most vibrant Chicago summer festivals, weekly markets, and live music nights the city has to offer. And while downtown draws the national headlines, neighborhoods like Andersonville, Edgewater, and Uptown hold their own with a festival calendar that keeps every weekend spoken for.

Andersonville Vintage Market

Twice in July (the 12th and 26th), Andersonville hosts a vibrant outdoor celebration of all things vintage. The Andersonville Vintage Market takes over the corner of Ashland and Catalpa, including the St. Gregory parking lot, with a curated mix of vintage clothing, home goods, vinyl, furniture, and handmade treasures from some of Chicago's best vendors. Doors open at 11 AM and the browsing runs until 5 PM, with a $5 suggested donation at the entry. It's quickly become one of the favorite Chicago street festivals for collectors, casual browsers, and anyone who enjoys a good Sunday find.
